WASHINGTON – Tom Swarek and Dan Bortolotti were sitting on the edges of the room, sipping coffee and chatting a bit after Tuesday’s morning session was over, when they had to return to their Capitol offices for some important work.
It was just their second day in a row that they would face the same crowd of well-wishers and reporters and photographers they had met a week ago, when the two men had given their very first speeches of their candidacy.
And when the two were leaving the Capitol later, with a crowd of reporters close on their heels, they passed a young couple, on their way to a wedding.
