The Women’s March Turned into a Circus

Opinion: What calls to boycott ‘The Woman King’ are really saying

The Women’s March was a huge disappointment. It was a good day to hold a “Women’s March,” but as the day unfolded in D.C. the event turned into a circus.

After protesters marched through the Mall and the Capitol they were met with a police shield wall, pepper spray, water cannons, metal barricades and a huge police presence.

In addition, police arrested the organizer, Linda Sarsour, several times.

But Sarsour also appeared on a platform with other female voices, including Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Carmen Perez. They denounced the protestors.

On social media, some criticized the event and others celebrated it for being a day-long protest, while others denounced those who don’t appreciate a peaceful protest.

“To the protestors who did not allow the peaceful protest to occur, we condemn you for your actions,” Perez tweeted.
