Walker, Kemp campaign in Ga. together for the 1st time
Republican candidates for the 1st time in November’s election, Rick Walker and Chris Kemp, have campaigned together for the first time in their campaign offices, the campaign said Saturday.
The campaign’s offices in Atlanta have been occupied since Monday, when Walker, a former Georgia secretary of state, launched his campaign. The offices have been staffed with staffers who will continue assisting Walker in his campaign for governor.
Walker announced last week that he was not seeking to run again for secretary of state, and he has vowed to run for governor. It was at least in part because of his pledge to not seek re-election to secretary of state that the campaign asked an organization that supports Walker to assist with its campaign.
Walker said Saturday he had discussed Kemp’s support of the governor’s effort to legalize medical marijuana with his campaign manager, David Cox, during a meeting last week.
Kemp is running for governor after former Georgia House Speaker David Ralston decided not to run for governor. The two spent the day Saturday campaigning together.
“I’m glad to have these two friends and allies join me in this fight against the establishment,” Ralston said in a written statement. “Chris and I got to know each other over the past year and we’re both excited about working together for the citizens of Georgia.”
The campaign declined to say who from the group supporting Walker in his first campaign for governor contacted Kemp’s campaign or made a request for assistance.
(TNS) – During the time when Republicans are trying to convince Americans about the party, its message is one of a very different kind.
A political message is about the voters and what they would like to see in their leaders.
The “Big Tent” Republican Party? Not so much. And this is not limited to Republicans. The Big Tent Republican Party is for the “party of the people” and their leaders.
A message to the voters is to make them see the difference between “Big Tent” Republicans and Big Tent Democrats.
The Democratic Party is a “Big Tent” political party. It believes in “the People”
