Update, 2:15pm: Officers found the suspect with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and died later in the evening, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department said. His name has not been released.
Los Angeles Police Department officers said they have found the body of a man who was shot dead by detectives investigating a stabbing in downtown Los Angeles.
Around 2:15 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Spring Street and Temple Street, where a man was stabbed, LAPD said on Twitter.
Officers said they heard gunshots from inside the downtown intersection. They found two men with gunshot wounds in the intersection, police said.
One suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The second suspect was being held at the hospital, where he is in stable condition, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
